Flory Mata es una de las figuras latinas más prominentes del estado de Oklahoma, USA. Originaria de Costa Rica, Flory trabajó muchos años en televisión y radio en su país, y ahora también en Estados Unidos.
Por dos años, Flory se desempeñó como
presentadora y productora del Noticiero T30, transmitido por Telemundo Oklahoma.
Desde setiembre del 2006, Flory nos presenta su propio programa de televisión, "Estilo Latino", una revista de variedades para la familia latina. El espacio ha ganado varios premios, entre ellos Mejor Programa de Televisión, Mejor Sitio Web y Personaje de la Televisión durante los años 2006 y 2007.
A partir de julio del 2008, Flory publica sus artículos sobre moda, salud, belleza, etc. en la revista Viva Oklahoma! publicada por OpuBco, quienes a su vez publican el diario El Oklahoman en la ciudad de Oklahoma.

Since she arrived to Oklahoma, five years ago, Flory has become a very well known TV personality and one of the most prominent Latina leaders in Oklahoma.
Native of Costa Rica, she developed a strong passion for communication and education. Her parents and grandparents where teachers and she studied Modern Languages, Mass Communications and Law. During more than twenty years Flory Mata has been a very active journalist, working for TV, radio and press.
Flory produced and hosted several TV and radio shows and became a very well known personality in her native country. In 2003 she married, Ron Stravlo, President of TDK, a worldwide company with a plant in Shawnee, and moved to Oklahoma. She started her career in Oklahoma teaching Spanish classes at Saint Gregory's University in Shawnee, and then her talent was discovered by Tylermedia, where she produced and anchored the news for Telemundo, KTUZ T30.
Flory is also a very successful business woman, owner of MAS MULTIMEDIA Corp ., an Advertising and Modeling Agency, MAS International Models , and an editorial brand La Buena Cuchara, that publishes her own books, videos and tapes, as well as a Press Services Agency, named LAPS, Latin-American Press Services, together with her oldest daughter Natalia Rodriguez, who is also a journalist; and they provide articles and other paper clips to several Spanish journals, websites and magazines, in USA and Costa Rica.
In 2006, while working for Telemundo, Flory started her own TV Show "Estilo Latino", which is like a magazine on TV, with information about local affairs, health, immigration, cooking, fashion, beauty and a calendar of important events. Since 2007 the show is broadcasted by UNIVISION 35 in Oklahoma City and 25 Tulsa, and can be watched in all cable channels in Oklahoma, and has become the favorite of the Hispanics living here, also winning important awards during two consecutive years, like "Best TV-Show", best Web Site and Best TV Personality of the Year.
In 2008 Flory organized and produced the first "Miss Latina Beauty Pageant" and "Little Miss Latina Beauty Pageant 2008". Creating a tradition that includes not just beauty, but talent and culture, and she hopes it lasts for many, many years in Oklahoma. www.missbellezalatinaoklahoma. com

In October 10 th , 2008, Flory also inaugurated the Latin-American Cultural Center, with a beautiful Art and Pre-Hispanic Jade and Gold Exhibition, a dream she had since 2004, when she taught Spanish at Saint Greg's University. More details at: www.laccok.org
Flory Mata-Stravlo is member of several organizations. In 2003 she founded AMPEHO , the Association of Hispanic Professional and Business Women of Oklahoma. She is also a co-founder of the Association of Hispanic Journalists of Oklahoma (APHO ), an active member of the Society of Professional Journalist (SPJ ) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists NAHJ , and founder and Executive Director of the Latin-American Cultural Center of Oklahoma and is a founder and Board Member of OSHJ , the new Oklahoma Society of Hispanic Journalists.
